Thanksgiving week happens to be National Family Week. Many groups and organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of America and the Kimberly Clark Corporation, encourage families to spend time together during the week of Thanksgiving. This family time could include a multitude of activities. Some example ideas include:

• Family Game Night
• Family Volunteering Opportunity (such as at a local food pantry or other non-profit organization)
• Family Movie Night
• Family Skate Night

Of course these are just a few ideas as the sky’s the limit when it comes to how you and your family choose to spend time together.

Family Time at Roller Kingdom

We’ve got several ways to encourage family time at Roller Kingdom in Tyngsboro and Hudson. Two of our favorites include our Wednesday Night Dollar Skate Night and our Friday Pizza Supper Skate. We know that families are often so busy, and that sometime family outings can be expensive, so both of these events are designed for family fun on a budget!

Dollar Night

The price is in the title! On Wednesdays, you only have to pay one dollar for your admission! Wednesday’s in Hudson run from 6-9pm and admission is just $1! In Tyngsboro are the same with the event running from 6-9pm and admission being just $1. Skate rental is $3 if you are renting!

Pizza Supper Skate

It’s the end of the work week and you don’t want to cook. Or do dishes. We’ve got you covered! Join us at Roller Kingdom from 4-6:30 on Fridays for our Pizza Supper Skate! For $6 you get a slice of pizza, a soda, admission, and skate rental*!

The diehard shoppers delight in the day after Thanksgiving sales. Most people know this day as Black Friday. While this annual tradition has crept into the pre-dawn hours of the Friday after Thanksgiving, we respect the fact that school is closed and parents and students alike can sleep in! We won’t make you wake up crazy early for our Black Friday Sale. Instead, you can sleep in, and then come skate off the turkey and mashed potatoes you ate the day before!

Adult Night in Hudson

Join us on Sunday, November 15 from 7-10pm at the Hudson Roller Kingdom. Admission is $8 when purchased in advance and includes roller skate rental. You can always purchase admission at the door for $10 and that includes rental too! We can do a throwback to the 80s or the top hits of today. Adult Night in Tyngsboro

The month of November is fun because we’re hosting not one, but two, Adult Skate Nights. The second 18+ roller skating event will take place on Sunday, November 29 from 7-10pm at the Tyngsboro Roller Kingdom. The same price applies of only $8 when tickets are bought in advance. They are $10 if you wait and purchase at the door. Skate rental is included with admission. You may purchase tickets online and bring your identification with you for our special roller skating event.

Planning a child’s birthday party can be a lot of fun. There are so many options out there that it can be overwhelming at first, but when planning a kids birthday party, we suggest starting with a checklist. At Roller Kingdom we think that a party checklist can make the planning much smoother, and this is especially true when you have location, theme, decorations, and food as four major categories on your checklist.

Location

Perhaps the most important element in planning a birthday party is choosing the location. At Roller Kingdom in Tyngsboro and Hudson, we make that part as easy as possible. Our family fun centers have been a strong part of the community for years! Both of our locations offer over 25,000 of fun! Location is certainly an easy category to check off the list when it comes to hosting a party at Roller Kingdom!

Theme

The next thing on your checklist should be determining a theme. Before anything can be made or bought you have to decide what the theme of your child’s party will be. For a child’s first birthday, parents tend to rely mostly on a color theme and the number “1.” As kids get older they start to like certain characters or TV shows. If they are old enough to tell you what they like that’s great, but if not, then just choose a theme based off of their favorite toy or cartoon.

Examples of themes by age-

• Ages 2-4: Pirates, princesses, dinosaurs, Elmo, Sesame Street, tea party
• Ages 5-7: Harry Potter, pizza, circus, dress up, cars,
• Ages 8-10: roller skating, movies, academic interests

Many of these themes can be incorporated into our many great activity options included with our party packages. In addition to roller skating, guests can partake in laser tag, karaoke, and arcade games!

Decorations

After determining a theme, decorations for the party should be next. You can choose to buy decorations from a party store or you can make your own. You can find so many decoration ideas online at Pinterest and other creative sites. Making your own decorations is a fun idea because often times kids can join in and help make some of the decorations for their party. Outside decorations are permitted at Roller Kingdom, so live up the theme!

DIY Decoration Ideas-

• Balloon animals
• DIY pin the (tail, bow, wheel, etc.) on the (character of choice)
• Character center pieces
• Pictures
• Tissue paper pom poms

Food

Food is always important when you have children. Perhaps you hear all too often, “When is dinner? I’m hungry!” At Roller Kingdom, you can wow your kiddos with fun themed menu ideas at their birthday party because you are you can customize your menu options with a choice of pizza or hot dogs and our party add-ons. You are welcome to bring in your own birthday cake with a booked party; if your child is having a zoo themed party, why not have zoo animal cupcakes?!

Adult Only Halloween Party-Tyngsboro Location

Adult Skate Nights are no longer a thing of the past! They have come back to Roller Kingdom with a renewed strength, and on the Sunday before Halloween, we’re celebrating with a Halloween Party and costume contest. Don’t miss this fun filled evening of fun for those 18 and up on Sunday, Oct 25. Adult Night is at the Tyngsboro location and will take place from 7-10pm. Roller Kingdom is local and family owned. We know just how important family is, and we also know that many families have been touched by cancer. In an effort to support those in our community that have experienced the battle with breast cancer either first hand or through the journey with a friend or loved one, we are participating in a fundraiser October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

Join us for an afternoon of roller skating on Sunday, October 18, and we’ll donate $1 of every admission to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Our skating session will take place from 1-5pm.

Not only will you be helping to support a good cause, but you will also be able to kick back and relax for a little while. Roller skating is great for getting your mind off of things and taking a break for a little while. We like to say that it is good for the body and good for the mind!

Columbus Day is on Monday, October 12. The Tyngsborough Public Schools will be closed and so will the Hudson Public Schools. When school is out, we’re open at Roller Kingdom!

We don’t know about you, but we’ve tried to watch daytime television before and we have to admit that we’d rather be roller skating! With so many students off of school on this day in October, the last thing we want is for them to be stuck at home and bored. Instead, come on out to Roller Kingdom in Tyngsboro or in Hudson.
