End of Season Team Parties

The buds on the trees, and the early spring blooms are proof that spring is on the way! This means that there will be more sightings of uniformed players on the soccer fields and in the ball fields as spring sports season gets rolling. At Roller Kingdom, we’re always rooting for our favorite teams, and we love to celebrate with them at the end of the season. Consider hosting your teams end of season banquet or celebration at Roller Kingdom!Parties

With over 25,000 square feet of space under our roof, we’ve got more than enough room for the whole team, plus parents, plus grandparents, and neighbors and friends too! And when the celebrations are done, and the trophies have all been passed out, our skating rinks in Tyngsboro and Hudson provide plenty of activity. Team members and their supporters can hit the roller skating rink, play a game of laser tag, sing a karaoke song, or play in the arcade.

Customized Private Parties

It does not matter if your team is generally found on the track, golf course, soccer field, ball diamond, or in the swimming pool, we host all sorts of end of season parties at Roller Kingdom. Party options may be customized from our snack bar, and don’t forget that we host family reunions, church groups, school groups, and non-profits as well.

Roller Kingdom Meetup

While many teams will soon be celebrating the end of the season, we know that many parents, coaches, and students are already planning ahead for the next season. Our rink is the perfect location for your sign up and registration event. Parents can get to know each other, coaches can meet participants, and siblings can roller skate while they wait. We think this is a win all around!

Share your ideas with us for how you would use Roller Kingdom for private events. Don’t forget that Roller Kingdom is happy to accommodate groups of any size for private rink rentals. Visit our Private Parties page to find out more and give us a call or contact us today!

New England Fundraising Tips

We love to partner with schools and other organizations within our Tyngsboro and Hudson communities through fundraisers. While we’ve provided tips for successful fundraising in the past, it is a timely topic to visit again with spring fundraisers on the rise. A few fundraising tips from SignUpGenius.com caught our eye, and we thought we would share a few that we’ve seen in action.

Combine FundraisersFundraisers in New England

One fun way to do this at Roller Kingdom is through a silent auction. Many schools ask for donations of goods or services that can be left out during the fundraising night in the form of a silent auction. This is a great way to combine a large fun night at Roller Kingdom with a smaller silent auction. A fun spin on this is to ask classroom parents to create themed baskets for a silent auction throughout the night.

Limit the Fundraising

This rule of thumb is one that many parents are grateful for! We’ve all had that niece, nephew, cousin, or co-worker’s child that seems to be constantly fundraising for something. At Roller Kingdom, we’re happy to provide a fun fundraiser that promotes, fitness and fun, while providing an easy way to raise money. This beats selling wrapping paper any day!

Call Roller Kingdom today with any questions about your fundraising needs! We’ll be happy to discuss the details and help you schedule your next fundraising night!

Reading = Free Skating

At Roller Kingdom, we love sharing our love of roller skating with lessons and a healthy way to exercise. We are used to partnering with schools and other organizations for fundraisers, so it is only natural for us to extend this partnership through reading. We are proud to announce that this is the second March is Reading Month in which we are rewarding the efforts of Hudson and Tyngsboro area students by offering free skating passes for the books they read in the month of March. Free Skating for Reading

How does reading equal free skating?

All readers have to do in the month of March is record their reading. After recording their reading, they must get a teacher to sign their March is Reading Month list and bring it in to either of our Roller Kingdom locations. We’ll provide free skating passes for each book read (up to five)!

Who can participate in March is Reading Month at Roller Kingdom?

Students in elementary, middle, or high school within the greater Tyngsboro and Hudson areas are eligible to participate in our March is Reading Month initiative. Check with individual teachers to make sure that they are aware of our program.

Please keep in mind that this pass may not be combined with any other discounts that we provide, and don’t forget to bring a parent or guardian with you. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Google + to keep up with other upcoming events at Roller Kingdom!

Time Out For Team Building

Break through the same old mantra associated with your company team building and check out all that we have to offer at Roller Kingdom! Our Tyngsboro and Hudson family entertainment centers have plenty to offer when it comes to team building. We’ve taken the lead from 30 Great Team Building Activities for Companies Large and Small to get your started with some brainstorming ideas that will work like a charm for your event!

Pre-Planning

Before you even get started on your next team building exercise, think about your goals. What is the overall purpose for meeting anyway? Is it to build camaraderie? Encourage fitness and wellness? Give back to the community? Or provide an opportunity to relax and lose some of the stresses associated with work? Once you’ve set your goal, you’re ready to get to the planning!

Planningteam building

At Roller Kingdom, our staff is happy to work with you in customizing the perfect team building day! Both of our family entertainment centers offer roller skating, laser tag, arcade games, and karaoke. Skating and laser tag are both great ways to encourage fitness and wellness as well as to build your team with fun and entertaining options. A conversation with our staff will help determine what activities need to be included for your private event.

Let’s not forget about food details. Our snack bar offers plenty of options including gluten free pizza! One of our representatives will be happy to help you plan a menu for your event.

Team Building by Giving Back

While roller skating, laser tag, karaoke, and arcade game playing can offer plenty of fun with a sprinkle of fitness and team building, we wanted to let you know that companies have found creative ways to turn team building into ways to give back to the community. Consider inviting employees and their families for a fun event at Roller Kingdom, and encourage them to bring a donation of items for a family in need during the holiday season or school supplies at the beginning of the school year.

If you’re ready to make a trip to Roller Kingdom a part of your next team event, contact us today for more information and to book a date that will work.

Birthday Fun and Games

Birthday parties at Roller Kingdom are always a hit! With paper goods, food, and entertainment taken care of within our party packages, we like to think that parties at Roller Kingdom are about as easy as they come and plenty of fun for everyone! However, we have seen a few creative families find ways to add a few more party games to fill the time while guests are taking a quick break at the reserved party tables. Here are a few of them:

Photo Booth Fun

Photo Booth Mustache

Glasses and mustaches make for great photo booth props!

With a home printer, or some savvy online shopping, plan ahead with a few fun photo booth props. Mustaches, hats, boas, and funny glasses all make for great photo ops! Throughout the party encourage guests to get a photo with the birthday guest of honor and print these photos off to slip into a thank you note!

The Sock Game

Before the party fill a sock with random household objects. Grab a spoon, a roll of tape, a paperclip, a penny, and other objects that guests will be able to feel through the sock. Ask them to guess what is inside the sock by writing down what they think is inside. The participant with the most correct guesses is the winner!

Roller Skating Games

Okay, we admit it, these ones don’t take place at the table. However, they are still tons of fun and a great way to get all involved that are on roller skates! Make sure to ask the DJ for your favorite traditional skating games! We’re always taking requests for things like the Hokey Pokey, the Limbo, and for playing some fun roller skating games!

Check out all that we have to offer for parties at the Hudson Roller Kingdom and at the Tyngsboro Roller Kingdom! We can’t wait to see you at Roller Kingdom for your next happy birthday or other party event!

3 Ways to Keep Kids Active in the Winter

Do you ever feel like it is a struggle for kiddos to get that pent up energy out during the winter? Shorter days and colder temperatures can make it challenging for children and adults to get enough physical exercise outside. Meanwhile, the need for physical exercise as identified by the Mayo Health Clinic still exists. Therefore at Roller Kingdom, we’re happy to share three ways to help keep kids and adults active in the winter!

  1. Take Advantage of our Pizza Supper SkateKids

We don’t know about you, but a night off of cooking and dishes always sounds like a good idea to us! Join us at the Tyngsboro or the Hudson Roller Kingdom for our Pizza Supper Skate. Just $6 provides admission, skate rental, a slice of pizza, and a soda! This is a fantastic deal for families and individuals that takes place nearly every week from 4-6:30pm

  1. Don’t miss Dollar Night

Don’t worry about expensive gym memberships to keep in shape! You can skate at the Tyngsboro Roller Kingdom for just a buck on Wednesday nights. Bring a friend or two, or your entire family to get in on this great mid-week break for exercise!

  1. It’s About More Than Skating!

Don’t forget that both of our Roller Kingdom locations offer laser tag. Playing laser tag is a great way to get your heart beating and pumping! You’ll feel the adrenaline rush as you hide behind obstacles, and attempt to outmaneuver the enemy’s fire! Laser tag is a fun add-on activity for any birthday party or corporate event at Roller Kingdom!

We hope that this winter you stay warm and active as we continue to countdown the days and weeks to spring! Join us during any of our open sessions at Tyngsboro or Hudson to keep active this winter!

We’re Feeling the Love!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Get your roller skates on,
And come roll with us!

February is American Heart Month. At Roller Kingdom, we love to get our exercise on and keep our hearts pumping with roller skating. Not only is roller skating tons of fun for the whole family, but it is a great way to get fitness in too!Valentine's Day

It is suggested by the Mayo Clinic that individuals exercise for at least thirty minutes each day. At Roller Kingdom, we know that including roller skating into a regular exercise routine has tons of benefits! Roller skating is good for the heart as it provides a great aerobic alternative to walking or running. When roller skating, not only are you getting that heart rate up, but you are also burning calories (up to 600 per hour!).

Throughout February there are tons of opportunities for you to join us and get that body rolling! Come on out for one of our great events at both of our Hudson and our Tyngsboro locations!
